Joshua Davies, 16 has been convicted of killing his girlfriend Rebecca Aylward over a dare. Joshua lured Rebecca under the pretence that she was being taken out on a date; and then took her to a secluded spot where he repeatedly bashed her head with a rock, thereby breaking her skull to win a bet over free breakfast.
A few weeks prior to the act, Joshua had made threats amongst his friends that he would kill her; and even though he friends thought he was joking around, one of his friends had joked that he would buy him free breakfast if he carried out the act. After carrying out the sinister act, Davies took his friend to the scene where Rebecca's body lay to prove what he had done.
Police were alerted to the killing after one of Davies' friends informed his parents and led the police to were the body lay. While Rebecca's parents were in search of her, Davies was busy updating his facebook account with his evil act. He even posted concerned messages for Rebecca's family who were in search of her, unaware of her death.
