The 'Gay' Situation in Nigeria.
When I heard a couple of months back that the Nigerian senate was deliberating on whether or not to ban same sex marriage in Nigeria, I thought to myself, really? Like this country doesn't have enough problems to be dealing with, than bothering ourselves about the seemingly growing gay community.
Apparently, it is something to be worried about; as more and more gay activists are appearing all over the place. Meanwhile, is it safe to say Nigeria is highly influenced by the western world? I mean c'mon, we sure know how to copy everything, especially the bad to the extreme. Thank God for his interference in the Nigerian Senate, and there's a ban over same sex marriage...even though I think 14 years jail term, is a little too extreme.
However, it might just be that this 'gay' situation in Nigeria, is way more serious than many people think. I mean Richard Branson posted on his blog yesterday on how cruel we treat the gay people in Nigeria; and how educated Nigerians should come together to fight the discrimination. Read it here. Can someone please tell Oga Branson to **talk to the hand**. This is Naija and not Yankee or any other European country. Nigeria is a very religious and traditional country regardless of our varied differences; and we definitely want to maintain that last bit of culture and sanity that we can possibly have. Duhh!! If Branson wants to help Nigeria, he should reduce the flight charges on Virgin Atlantic.
We have Nigerian gay 'pastors' running around the place trying to create awareness on the gay community. Hello???!!! Even animals who are lesser than humans don't mate with their own sex. Male goats don't mate with other male goats and Female Cows don't smooch themselves do they? Oh please, nobody is born 'gay' you're only controlled by the devil. Period.
Nigerians are protesting at the Nigerian Embassy in New York over Gay rights. If dem born them, why they no come naija, come protest...mschewww

O faithful Nigerians, continue to pray for this country, we still haven't dealt with the issue of terrorism. It is well with this Country IJN.

Proud of u babe. I agree totally. The senate shud extend the same law to pedophiles and men who marry women younger than 18. Imagine the UN threatening 9ja. My sugestion is they shud give visas to 9ja gays and lesbians to go where its allowed Shekena.
ReplyDeleteMisplaced n mis-judged priorities....... the pictures in this blog are not from the motherland....... Let d gay come out n protest here in naija instead of protesting in Yankee n the UK........ Fine you can choose to be gay but our societal norms is against it....... Was d catch in being gay, ow can i get a boner from a fellow dude..... Wen sistas with nice bakassi n front attack are all over..... some perverted minds
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing remotely normal about loving someone of the same sex...and we should not accept it. Sad that we now have to pray our future generation should love the opposite sex... This is the strongest sign of the times to me.... Really sad.
ReplyDeletetufiakwa!!! i saw a guy using a waist belt and swaying his hips the other day...gross, i wonder what is wrong with this country. God help us..
