If tomorrow never comes

The only promise tomorrow has, is itself. There are no guarantees, none whatsoever…..
But what if tomorrow never comes? What if all our planned ambitions fizzle into vapor in just an instant? What if we never get to realize all our dreams and aspirations just because dusk refuses to give way to dawn, and the sun never rises?
The bible says in James 4:14; ‘Whereas you know not what shall be tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away’.
So what does this mean? That today is the best time for anything and everything. That one day, might actually be today. That our life is in God’s control, we cannot presume to make future plans with any certainty. We can only work with what we have which is today.
It also means that we should quit procrastinating and do what we need to do. Procrastinating only leads to regret.
Today is the best time to tell someone ‘I love you’, cos it could change someone’s life. It is also a good time to let go of all past hurt and pains and move forward because nursing anger will only eat you inside. It is also a good time to say ‘I’m sorry’ or ‘I forgive you’ whichever the case might be.
Today might be a good time to quit that job you hate so much, and do that which you love. All it takes is a leap of faith. Besides, if you have to start something, why not start now. Starting may only require you to make up your mind, or making a call. Life in itself is a risk, and risks were made to test us. So why not take the risk that comes with today, why wait till tomorrow.
Remember, if you can’t see the Sun, then it’s time to change your horizon. The only miracle in accomplishing anything is starting it!
The disappointments that come with life are when you see shadows of what you could have been, but never were. If you have a lot to live for, then today is the best time to start living….cos what if tomorrow never comes?
