The Path I follow

I’m sure everyone is familiar with the current religious/political crisis going on in Nigeria at the moment; particularly in the Northern part of the country. The killing and maiming number is on the increase; Churches and Christians are the targets, and Corpers are victimized. One would stop to wonder if this crisis isn’t more religious than political. The reason is say this is prior to the election, the Northerners chanted ‘Vote for Islam, vote for Buhari’; and now their defense to the Riot and various acts of violence is that they cannot have a Christian president.

A colleague of mine at work who apparently is Muslim, had this phrase on his BB profile ‘what do you have against Islam?’. I dare to answer that question right now. Islam has always been associated with violence, not just now, but over the ages. Look at Libya, Egypt, Sudan, Iraq, Iran....the list is endless. If they have to prove a point, it would be done via violence, is this not enough reason to have something against the religion? Now I’m not saying all Muslims are violent, as a matter of fact, I have a couple of Muslim friends who are kind-hearted, and I’m sure there are several others who are good too.

However, using Nigeria as an example, the Muslims have demonstrated their hate and violence by killing Christians, and burning down Churches. Is this not enough reason to despise the religion? Is it not possible for the people of this religion to be tolerant?, Is it possible for them not to consider every other person outside their religion as an Infidel?  Do they have the right to kill all in the name of their religion and get away with it? All these are questions I ask and I believe many of you ask the same.

  1. My dear, do not follow the ways of the ignorant one who cause the havoc in the north (do not judge ignorantly). I can bet, if a couple of them are captured and questioned on their reasons for fighting, surprisingly they themselves would have no clue.
    1. Obasanjo who is a christian ruled Nigeria for 8years (2terms)
    2. What is the cause of current unrest in libya and the middle-east (fighting for democracy, also being backed by the Western world) but islam preaches against rebellion to leaders even if the are unjust, as this will cause more difficulty and mischief.

3.Islam (submission to the will of God)has existed even before the creation of mankind. Islam was only perfected about 1400 years ago, if islam preached violence, 1400 years is more than enough to annihilate the entire world.

    3. It is quite unfortunate that today, the muslims are not united but are divided into different countries and sects following their desires, the muslim nation was a dynasty well known for civilization and justice.

4.Interestingly, the world @ large is ruled by a few political giants that own the media, giving them the power to create a believe and enemity against any1 who is not dancing to their tune. Or would you compare:
an Osama to the revolting Arab youths (Osama is against his own Govt. and the western Govt. Both are rebels)
Saudi Arabia to an Iraq (both got oil but 1 refused to be an ally)
Or a UAE to an Libya aren't they both muslim countries.

    5. I admit there are many ignorant muslims out there who don't know why they are fighting, just as there are many onlookers who don't know the true situation but follow what seems aparent without having indepth knowledge.

    6. In times of war, Islam phohibits the killing of women, children, old people, civilians, poisoning of aood and water source etc. Sure you never knew this

    7. I give you my readers a great challenge which very few will attempt, do not be in a haste to judge,
    go study about Islam,
Read the Quran and the Sunnah (traditions). Don't judge the car by is driver

    After doing this this,
Now tell me what you've got against Islam.

  2. Let sleeping dogs lie

Religion does not take us to heaven

Our works alone cannot take us there

Our righteousness are like filthy rags before our maker

This was why He provided us a Saviour to save us from SIN

  3. My name is Hakeem. I used to be a muslumi ododo. But thank God, my eyes were opened by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. To him be Glory, Honour, Power and Adoration now and Forever more. Amen!.

Annonymous wrote; and I quote “ Now tell me what have you got against islam”
Before I begin, I shall describe the foundation of islam.

    1. The Quran: this is held in greatest esteem and reverence amongst muslumi ododo as their holy scripture. They dare not touch it without first being washed and purified. The read it with the greatest care and respect, never holding it below their waist (weist). They swear by it and consult it on all occassions. It is said that the devil, shaytan(satan) as they call him, runs away from the house in which a portion of the Quran, Surat al-Baqarah (The Cow) 2, is read. Anyone who is able to memorize and repeat the whole Quran by heart is called a Hafiz, a protector.

    2. Sunna: Next to the Quran in Islamic life is Tradition (Hadith). A command given by Muhammad or an example set by him is called Sunna, a rule. A muslumi ododo places the Sunna on the same level as the Bible (mumu pple), but he regards the Quran as far superior to both. Just as Muahmmad said: and I quote “ He who loves not my Sunna is not my follower. He who in distress holds fast to the Sunna will receive the reward of a hundred martyrs”

    3. Ijma: This a consent of the leading companions of Muhammad and their followers. The highest rank a muslumi divine can reach is that of a Mujtahid (one who strives). Such a person can make what is called an Ijtihad, a deduction from a legal or theological question. TheIjtihad of the 4 successors of Muhammad are considered the most authoritative of the class. Four systems of muslumi law, founded by 4 great Imams, are recognized by all except the Shi’ite sect of Islam.

    4. Qiyas: also called analogy. This denotes reasoning of the learned with regard to the teaching of the quran, hadith and Ijma. A muslumi theology student must complete a course of instruction in grammar, rhetoric, logic, law and dogmatics before beginning the study of Ilm-il-usul (science of principles), the agreggate of the quran, tradition, ijma and qiyas. A good memory, not judgement or analytical thinking is the great virtue of a muslumi theologian.

    The creed of islam
To become a muslumi ododo, one nneds only to repeat with sincerity this simple creed:
    La ilaha
    Il’ Allah,
    Muhammadan rasoulu Allah
Meaning: there is no god but Allah, and muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”
This is the shahada (witness) and expresses the very heart of the islamic creed.
Following this, the true muslumi ododo must accet 5 articles of iman (faith)

    1. Belief in Allah as the one true God.

    2. Belief in Angels as the isntruments of God’s will.

    3. Belief in the 4 inspierd books: Torah(which originates from the hebrews(jews)), zabur, injil, and quran, of which the quran is the final and most complete.

    4. Belief in the 28 prophets of Allah, of whom muhammad is the last.

    5. Belief in a final day of judgement.

    To be continued…

  4. He who has nothing good to say should keep silent.

Do not argue even when you know you are correct.

Someone prayed feverently for a cup to pass over him and yet you say he died for you,
Logically, is it ok to punish some1 for another's sin.
The son of man will rest in the belly of the earth for three days and three nights.
Please count the days and nights are they complete 3 each,
For you believe in me and I have been persecuted you also will be persecuted.
Are you facing any persecution? Even the babalawo that we all know are on the wrong path, are not persecuted by the world.
There were no clippers in those days that's why Eesa (ASW)Jesus did not shave his beard, or the picture of Mary with a head scarf was it a muslim that made their pictures?
We see a nun all covered up and respect her, see an indian woman with a covering, you'll say nice culture, but see a muslim woman....judge yourself.

God is One, you have no other but Him, and this has been the message to mankind ever since.
God needs no son or helper as he created everything and never gets tired or weak, He also needs no progeny for continuity.
He sees and hears all, and needs no one to interprete or intecede as He has the final say.

Please can I ask, what were the reason for the battles in the old testaments which you believe in, and what were they fighting for, Joshua, David, Solomon (ASW)?
    Democracy?
And a little point to note in Hebrew language there is no (J) it is pronunced like (Y)
    Bin'yamin not Benjamin
    Yeesa not Jesus
    Yaqub not Jacob
    Yeshua not Joshua
    Yehova not Jehova
Make more research. But remember my deeds for me, your deeds for you, but fear your Lord who created the heavens and the earths in 6days and was not tired, He destroyed the people of Nuh (Noah),Lut and Pharaoh withiout pity or fear of consequences.
Now tell us what do you have against Islam :-)

  5. Only one simple question for everyone here;

If I were able to prove to you and you were able to see the essence and flawlessness of Islam, would you follow and become muslims and abandon your religion?

    ReplyDelete
  6. @Annonymous: just reading the post, & from all the comments, you seem to to be very defensive, especially since nobody condemned islam, but only identified the violence associated with it. Have heard about the innocent corper IK Ukeoma who was slaughtered in the North? can you defend such violence? if u can, then you are no different from them. And to answer you question, I don't think anybody who has experienced the love of Christ can abandon that for a Violent religion. Hopefully, someday, your eyes would be pen to the truth......

  7. ألحمدلله islam is currently the fastest growing religion in the West.
Don't get me wrong, I have previously condenmed the violence.

He it is, who has sent His messenger with with guidance in the religion of truth, that will prevail over all religions even if the polytheist detest it.

We will all die, Christ will definately come back, we will meet Our creator, then will you know the truth about Islam and the path which you follow.

They will not believe in the quran, and already the example of the ancients has gone forth.
And even if We opened to them a gate from Heaven and they were to continue ascending thereto,
They will surely say: our eyes have been dazzled, we are a people bewitched.

O you who believe, when you go to war in the cause of God, discern between friend and foe, and if one greets you with a salutation of peace, do not say to him abruptly, 'you are not a believer'.....Q4:94

Then what message after this Quran will they believe?

  8. I would not convert back to a Muslim because not only have I found unconditional love in Christ, I have realised that God Himself is Holy and no one can see Him, Because of His Holiness, He could not have come to this earth as a Spirit, He had to use a Human flesh to do so and if redemption could only happen by blood shed, then I strongly believe in the birth of Jesus, His Dead and Resurrection for me

The Muslim religion did not offer me true love like Christ did, it did not offer me divine healing and even resurrection after death

However one thing is certain, there was once a Man who walked the face of this earth for you and I and came to offer the true life God gave us before Adam and Eve sinned

The Christian life is a personal relationship with God, what I would ask is if you were to just say for a day, Jesus are you really real, are you really the only one that can redeem me, if so I want to know you more, Pls fill me with the Holy Spirit and let me experence you in my life...I am certain the door of your heart would be iluminated and you would experience a divine touch

When you have a lot of questions about your religion and are wondering what others think about it, it shows a sign of insecurity and unsureness which to me is not a bad feeling

If Christ was not sure of what he preached why would He even die such death in the first instance but as a winner who never gives up and believes in this true God, He neglected the shame and died for you and I

Christ is the WAY to the father and in christianity we have a GOD who says he is not only our God but our FATHER

Christ is the author of PEACE not violence and I would recommend we all live in PEACE and embrace the type of love He preached

  9. The belief or disbelief of anyone is for his own soul. And no soul can bear the burden of another, all the prophets, from Noah to Muhammed, including Jesus (peace be upon them) came with thesame message, The lord your God is one, worship my lord and your lord, each prophet did not contracdict his predecessor.
It is not possible to have faith by believing in a prophet and disbelieving his predecessor, also all of them were purified and chosen by God himself, and you are not to judge.

And I say to those who do not know, make your research about islam read the Quran and see if there are any flaws in it, and not what you see muslims doing today.

Islam forbids alcohol, fornication and adultery, stealing, killing, telling lies, dealing interest etc.

The word Allah الله means God, the One and only true God, do not be a foolish ignorant person.
If you were to carry an arabic bible you would see الله frequently. Not to go too far, look for those small, pocket bibles with blue cover (new testament only), in the first few pages you will see an arabic translation, look out for this word الله.

I seek refuge with الله from every shaytan the accursed and his accomplices.

In the name of الله the beneficient and the merciful,
    O you who disbelieve
I do not worship what you worship
Nor do you worship what I worship
I shall never worship what you worship
Neither will you worship what I worship
To you be your religion and to me my religion?
